Vehicle Listing Description
Well everyone, this is the time when my Dad is going to be putting his Z up for sale. I am going to broker the car for him since he is sick with Crohnes. Some history on the car since it has been in the family longer than I have...Car is a white Z28 with 350 V8, Auto, air, red interior with red/orange striping. The car was purchased in Ionia, MI brand new when my Dad was around the age of 20. He absolutely loved the car and made sure it had nothing but the best. When we moved to Texas, it was shipped in an enclosed semi truck. Same thing happened when we moved here. We have always had two or more garage spaces and this one has never had anything but one of them. My Dad has always changed the oil, fluids, brakes, maintainence himself, and would never let anyone lay their hands on it. When we lived in MI the car received a factory paint job with new striping that cost nearly $6,000. Once moving to OH, the car went through several steps in what my Dad referred to as, "Keeping the baby young". The car took up two of the 3 garage stalls and had the interior removed, and completely replaced with OEM pieces from Year One and a company in Cleveland. I can even remember taking a trip there to pick up some of the pieces that my Dad did not want to wait to ship. The car then received an aftermarket CD player (SONY), rear component speakers (POLK audio) and necessary wiring. The interior is literally brand NEW!!! Same goes for the Exterior as since the paint job the car has only had 500 miles put on it if that!! It has also always been covered by a car cover during the winter and weeks that it was not driven around the block. In terms of the mechanical spectrum, the car has the original 350 V8 with a few items to help unleash that bogus 175hp rating from Chevy. It has a catless custom exhaust with quad chrome tips (see pics), Edlebrock valve covers, MSD ignition and wires, Edlebrock 750 carb, OEM hoses & filters, OEM intake manifold with coating, OEM leaf springs and suspension bushings all around, Chrome radiator shroud, OEM pads/rotors, and plenty of other things that I will have to check with him and receipts for. The car also has a set of American Racing Torq Thrust chrome wheels with BFG radials. These have around 100 miles on them if not less. Everything I have listed has been accounted for in receipts and pictures posted, plus more. The car also has an aftermarket sunroof by a company in MI, since it is NOT a Ttop. I can not stress how much care, time and devotion has been put into this car not only by my Dad, but by our entire family as it has something that has always been in our lives. I can even remember when I was younger and my Dad got the exhaust done, I would be scared when the car would pull in the garage because it was loud and mean sounding but now 13 years later it sounds like American muscle. Well I will stop rambling on and on and wrap this up with links to pics below and all the information needed is listed above (contact, price, etc.) NADA classic cars lists this high retail value for $19k!! Now obviously this is not the real market which is why the price has been scaled down accordingly and is OBO- so do not be afraid to offer something less as long as it is not a low ball, because again, my Dad is sick and needs this money for medical bills. It's a hard time but we all hope this car goes to someone that will continue to make this car one of the last great representations of a 79.
